LOGISTICS and HOW SECONDERS WORK
Please note that the start and end point of these races are in two different locations. The below info should help you understand a but more about how it all works if you have not done this race before.
THE START
The ULTRA and EPIC races both start at Far and Wide Zimbabwe on the Mutarazi Falls road in Nyanga Zimbabwe.
The 32km starts at our Golden Pools Nutrition Station. Directions will be sent to everyone prior to the event.
You will need to get to the start using your seconder or finding a lift with someone else. There is a SHUTTLE but with very limited seats so please make sure that you book this before you arrive through skyrun@farandwide.co.zw
THE JOURNEY TO ABERFOYLE
As you make your way along the Turaco Trail to the finish at Aberfoyle you will need to make sure that your seconder takes your kit to the finish line and sets up your tent for you or sorts out your accommodation. Seconders are responsible for getting your vehicles to the finish as well as all your kit.
THE FINISH
Aberfoyle lodge is home to the finish line of all races. Your seconders are responsible for getting your kit, tent and car to this point. The first runners normally start coming in from around 11:00 on the Saturday. Majority of runners come in from 14:00.
THE ISUZU SHUTTLE
There will be a shuttle from Far and Wide to Golden pools and then from Aberfoyle to Far and Wide on the Sunday. If you need this service then please book a spot through skyrun@farandwide.co.zw as there are limited spots.
WHAT IS A SECONDER
A seconder is your chief supporter (so choose wisely). They are there to help you get over the line and have everything waiting for you at the end. Due to numbers we only allow 1 seconder per athlete. Organisers are unable to assist with driving vehicles down for you so please organise this before.
